Denis Nightingale - Chairman
I became a trustee some years ago when I took over the editorship of the Stithians Times. It's been a very exciting time as a terrific troop of trustees has built up The Stithians Centre into the busy place it is today. I especially enjoy helping out at a varied number of events in the Centre from the film club to compering Stithians Got Talent. Volunteering here is hugely satisfying and we welcome anyone new with open arms.

Phil Blease - Vice Chairman
Phil retired in 2010 after 19 years in the financial services industry which in turn followed 20 years in engineering. Since retiring as well as taking up golf and walking his black labrador "Ben" he has increasingly involved himself in the local voluntery sector. As well as Vice Chairman of The Stithians Centre he is a member of the Parish Council.

John Colgate - Treasurer
John moved to Stithians with his wife, Anthea, in 2005, on retirement from the Royal Air Force after over 30 years’ service as a photographic interpreter and intelligence officer. They bought a cottage “in need of some modernisation” and are still re-building it and rescuing its garden. John has been Treasurer since 2008, soon after the modernised/extended Centre was opened. When not generating invoices and budget forecasts, or working on the house and garden, he plays tenor saxophone and escapes to Bodmin where he flies and maintains a vintage light aircraft. John is also Secretary of Feet Off the Ground, a Bodmin-based charity which provides aviation-related experiences and flights to disabled and disadvantaged young people.

Cath Cullen - Secretary
I have been secretary of the committee for nearly 10 years. I came to the committee via Stithians Preschool where I was a committee member and then playleader for a few years. I lived with my husband and three children in the parish for 23 years and our children attended Stithians School. Although I moved to Redruth 18 months ago I enjoy keeping my connection with Stithians as secretary to The Stithians Centre Committee and being part of the great team that believe in keeping the Centre a thriving and fun community building. In the past I have been a primary school teacher and worked in the Cornwall Library Service as a Bookstart coordinator in Camborne. I am also a school governor at Stithians School.

Judie Street - Events Officer
I have lived in Cornwall since 1966, and my three sons grew up here, the family is now scattered, living in Helston, Greece and New Zealand. I taught at Cornwall College for 16 years and then latterly in staff training and quality assurance for a local charity. My role on SCMC is mainly in Events, but also just about anything else that is going on! My other interests include boating (with my husband Geoff), exploring Cornwall's coast with Nell (our collie, who also boats with us), photography, reading, some gardening, and enjoying life in Stithians, which offers so much to all ages.
Judith Twigger - Publicity Officer

Martin Roper - Caretaker
I’m originally from Paignton but moved down to Cornwall more than 20 years ago. I’m a glazier. I gave up work to help my partner Lesley care for her mum - the much missed Peggy Pascoe. I cleaned in the Seven Stars for a few years until it closed. I am an avid football supporter and if/when the pub reopens, like nothing better than chatting about the game! I am aware I have big shoes to fill in my caretaking role but will do my best.
