Time for a tart up

The main hall of the Stithians Centre is in need of a couple of coats of paint to keep it fresh and pleasant for all its users.

Calling all volunteers.

We are arranging a "paint in" on the first weekend of half term ie Saturday 10th February and Sunday 11th. We are looking for volunteers to join the merry team who will be tackling this task. No previous experience needed but if you have previous experience why not flaunt it. Many hands make light work.

We are also looking for people to provide refreshments and moral support and even people who may like to sponsor the materials needed.

If you are interested and able to assist in anyway please contact Phil Blease on 01209 861535 or email and let us know how you are able to help.

Climate Change with Nikki Jones
Nikki Jones makes a welcome return with another informative talk focusing on the effect of land use on climate change. Did you know that 24% of the UK greenhouse gas emissions are attributed to agriculture, forestry and other land use. Nikki's talk will cover topics such as: How our soil and trees sequester carbon; how our peat lands and forests must be protected; how we should farm our land to prevent water runoff and loss of top soil (we have lost a third of top soil in the last 100 years); the use of nitrogen fertilisers, pesticides, herbicides and fungicides and livestock farming. FREE event organised by Stithians Energy Group. Light refreshments available. SEG only ask that you consider a voluntary donation to help with running costs.
